PRECONGRESS COURSE: EMERGENCY PEDIATRIC COURSE
11:00-16:00
Urgent conditions in pediatrics represent a wide range of acute, rapidly progressive and potentially life-threatening situations that require immediate recognition and organized care. Due to the specific anatomy and physiology of children, as well as their limited ability to clearly express complaints, the clinical picture can be non-specific and the deterioration sudden. This is precisely why pediatric emergency medicine requires a high degree of professional vigilance, a systematic approach and knowledge of modern protocols.
The Course includes an overview of the most common categories of emergency conditions: respiratory emergencies, shock, convulsions, disorders of consciousness. Special emphasis is placed on early identification of a vitally endangered child, assessment of the severity of the condition, prioritization of procedures and timely stabilization of basic life functions. Challenges in differential diagnosis, specificities of therapeutic approaches in relation to age, as well as the importance of teamwork and effective communication in emergency situations will be discussed.
