General information about the workshops

Dear colleagues,

We invite you to visit workshops at the Congress which will be held on 7th.11. 2015. in the halls of  Medical School.

• Each workshop will have a introductory part for 15 min. where workshops leaders will introduce the participants to the most important objectives of the congress workshops, algorithms, indications, contraindications, complications and procedures in accordance to  the theme workshops.

• All workshops will be held at the same time and the participants shall, in accordance with the color (on their identification card) will be divided into groups and will know the way of movement tru the workshops  halls.

An example of changing groups of workshops:

Participants may attend to the workshop only with the their identification cards.

If you are not interested in same workshop, please, wait until your group finished and to continue with work.

Please work  with attention with phantoms and equipment and do not allow damage to the equipment.

Please do not obstruct the work  of other colleagues.

Workshop 1: CPR - new guidelines in 2015

In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the changes in the guidelines for CPR, which will be valid scientific recommendations for the period 2015-2020.

Changes from the previous tutorials will be presented in the first 15 MIN then the participants will be able to practice on mannequins following procedures:

CPR in adults

• Set the airway

• Set the laryngeal mask

• Set IV lines

• Set the intraosseous line

• Using the AED

• Use defibrillator

• Monitoring and treatment of malignant rhythm disorders

• Chest Compression

• The use of drugs in CPR

CPR for children

• Breathing mask -balon

• Set the laryngeal mask

• Set IV lines

• Set intraosealnog times

• Use defibrillator

• Monitoring and treatment of malignant rhythm disorders

• Chest Compression

• The use of drugs in CPR in children

Workshop 2: Setting of central venous catheter

This workshop is dedicated to the treatment of hemodynamically unstable patient who needs volume replacement and control of hemodynamics. Principles of setting, indications and contraindications, as well as the removal of of central venous catheter will be presented during the 15 - minute lectures.

In the further course of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to place the central venous catheter on manikins

Workshop 3: Setting of the thoracic catheter

In most European countries, emergency medicine physicians are responsible for setting thoracic catheter in their emergency departments. We believe that this workshop could help the learning of this procedure, greatly facilitate and clarify many doubts and fears about this procedure.

As in previous workshops, will initially attend a short lecture and then practicing the procedure of setting of the thoracic catheter in an animal materials.

Workshop 4: The primary suture and surgical tracheotomy

At this workshop will be set up two working places, where after short introductory lectures (2x 7,5min) will practice primary suture and surgical tracheotomy. We are aware that a large number of younger colleagues who work in small communities definitely has an obligation to take care of minor injuries. Also, one of the most urgent procedure is airway management. When all other attempts are unsuccessful, surgical tracheotomy is the latest in this series of care.

Both of these procedures will be  practiced on the animal materials.

Workshop 5: Emergency Ultrasound

It is known that, in establishing a diagnosis, increasingly rely on various diagnostic methods. Echosonography, thanks to its well-known advantages (noninvasive, the absence of contraindications and ionizing radiation, ease technical  implementation, cost-effectiveness, the possibility of frequent repetition, and the possibility of application in patients allergic to iodine) has become a method that enables us to with great certainty we can confirm even exclude many serious emergencies.

In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn the basics of echocardiography and ultrasound of the abdomen. In echocardiography will be shown ultrasound findings in patients with acute myocardial infarction, with initial aortic dissection, pericardial effusion, septal rupture, with pulmonary thromboembolism .. Within the abdominal ultrasound will be presented findings in patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm, calculosis of the gallbladder and kidneys, the presence of free fluid in the abdomen.

Workshop 6: Coordination "hand-needle" using ultrasound (in setting a central venous catheter as well as the use of regional anesthesia in nerve blockage)

Setting a central venous line is the task of doctors who are working in the emergency departments of hospitals in most Western countries. To set up a of central venous catheter there are a number of indications: application of drugs during CPR, hemodynamic monitoring, in scase of inability to set a peripheral venous line, up to the long-term use of antibiotics and other medicaments..etc. The use of of ultrasound in setting up a central venous catheter significantly reduces the percentage of failure, complications, and number of attempts setting.

The objective of this workshop is to show and train coordination "hand –needle“ in the process of setting up of central venous catheter. As a model has a structure that mimics the nerve, there is is possibillity to practice and ultrasonic recognition of nerve.

Visit us to practice together!
